Penis size is a source of concern for many men. A number of them dream of gaining a few extra centimeters in length or increasing girth. Penoplasty may be the solution. It can help restore confidence and reduce insecurities, without affecting sexual performance. But how does the procedure work? What are the results in terms of enlargement or thickening? Here is everything you need to know.

The different techniques of penoplasty

Penoplasty is a procedure designed to increase the length or girth of the penis. Both can be done simultaneously or separately. There are now two main techniques available: one surgical and one non-surgical medical approach.

Surgical penoplasty

Surgical penoplasty can address both the girth and length of the penis. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and lasts approximately one hour.

Penile thickening is achieved through fat injection. The surgeon performs liposuction to harvest fat from a donor area of your body, such as the thigh, abdomen, buttock, or leg.

This fat is then purified and injected into the penis. The majority is injected between the glans and the shaft, with smaller amounts distributed along the rest of the organ to create a smooth and harmonious appearance.

To increase length, the surgeon severs the suspensory ligament of the penis. This releases the internal part of the organ, making it appear slightly longer in its flaccid state. However, there is no visible effect during erection. Lengthening is typically recommended only in cases of true micropenis.

Medical penoplasty with hyaluronic acid

A less invasive option now exists: medical penoplasty. This non-surgical technique involves injecting hyaluronic acid into the shaft of the penis to increase girth. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body. During the procedure, the physician injects between 5 and 10 ml per session. If the result is insufficient, a second session may be needed a few months later.

The procedure is quick, painless, and leaves no scars. It is performed under local anesthesia and takes around 20 minutes. Initial results are visible immediately and become final after two weeks. However, the results are not permanent and begin to fade after about 12 months.

Results after penoplasty

For surgical penoplasty, results vary between length and girth:

  • Length: an average gain of 2 to 3 cm, visible only at rest, not during erection
  • Girth: an average gain of 2 to 5 cm

A second injection is often necessary to ensure the fat integrates properly and to achieve the desired thickness. To maintain the benefits of the procedure, follow-up appointments with your surgeon may be required.

Final results are visible between three and six months after the procedure, once healing is complete and any bruising or swelling has resolved.

Medical penoplasty only affects girth. You can expect a gain of 3 to 5 cm, visible both at rest and during erection. However, the results last for up to 12 months, after which you will need to return to your physician for a repeat session.

In both cases, the penis may change in appearance. Despite an initially uniform result, fat may occasionally accumulate in small nodules. The surface remains smooth, but the appearance can become slightly uneven. Sexual function is not affected, and sensitivity and erection remain unchanged.

Candidates for penoplasty

This procedure is intended for men with micropenis (less than 8 cm when erect) or for those who feel that the size or girth of their penis is insufficient.

Most candidates fall within normal size ranges but experience psychological distress related to their perception of their body. This insecurity can significantly affect their intimate or social relationships. Even if penoplasty only adds a few centimeters, it can help some men feel better about themselves and regain confidence.

Penoplasty cost in Belgium

The cost of medically or surgically enhancing penis size can vary, and it is important to consider the long-term results as well.

The price of surgical penoplasty ranges from €4,000 to €5,500 depending on the technique used and the desired outcome.

For medical penoplasty with hyaluronic acid, the price ranges from €1,500 to €2,500. The final cost depends on the expected results and whether one or two sessions are needed.

Penoplasty addresses personal insecurities and psychological well-being, not sexual performance or pleasure.

If you wish to increase length, surgery is the only option. If you want to increase girth, you can choose between surgical or medical penoplasty. Both techniques provide real, visible results. The choice depends on your goals and how long you want the effects to last.
